Also what's the purpose of the 7 day break exactly? I know it has to do with the state shifting, but why does there need a break specifically required by the state shifting?

The purpose of the 7 day break is to allow your mind to dissolve the v2.1 programming. This way you start fresh with the new set of instructions that you will be getting from v2.2.

if we ran 2.2 dmsi without the seven day gap would that cause a lot of problems?

There will be a period of time during which 2.1 is directly contradicting 2.2 and neither will work well or fully. Some things are the same between them, but not everything. You're going to do better to wait.
