I've been in that situation 2 times. I didn't take it either of those times. First time it happened the blame fell on me, the guy actually believed his girlfriend. We haven't spoken since, but ran into each other a couple of times. Awkward lol. He knows he was wrong. If the truth comes out in Chaos' situation, we'll see who the biggest assholes really are.
The other time was with my best friends girl, he's like the embodiement of loyalty. It was the hardest conversation I've ever had, but he believed me instantly and told the girl to fuck off. It was my obligation to tell him because I love him like family. I know this guy likes being in relationships, we've had these discussions before but that's what he prefers. As a friend, I respect that. I'm more liberal in that sense. We both have a hard shell and the lethal sting, which is a bond most people wouldn't even begin to understand.
Loyalty is a big deal for me as I've been stabbed in the back so many times. It's also because I lost a good friend to cancer when we went to elementary school. That was extremely hard for me to deal with, he was the sweetest kid. So while I'm very independent, people who disrespect my friends are my enemies.
