This in particular stood out to me amongst all the rest...yes I'm an entrepreneur first, clearly lmao.
I vibe you 100% on that fact. I spent a fortune on FB ads, they're trash and I'm very jaded on the platform. I took my money elsewhere. I'd be open to spending again if it worked somehow, but I'm very skeptical.
Best of luck with those man, I hope you do better than I!
Did you install the Facebook Conversion Pixel on your properties? They WERE absolute trash until they released (and now upgraded) the pixel. Super dope concept. The Facebook Pixel allows you to track conversions based off a number of "standard events," like "view content," or "add to cart."
Basically, you'll first create an ad and have the pixel optimize and track conversions based on "view content." That means that the pixel will log the profile and interests of anyone who clicks the ad to view your content. From there, I usually create a 1% lookalike audience based off the "view content" data. Basically, Facebook will create an audience profile for you to target based off the profiles and interests of anyone that viewed your content. I'll then take the original ad, duplicate it, change it to target the new lookalike audience, but this time I'll have the Facebook Pixel track the "add to cart" standard event. After a few days, I'll go back, take the "add to cart" standard event and create a 10% lookalike audience (which is much larger than the 1%). Finally, I'll have Facebook Optimize on the "Purchase" event.
It's a LONG, EXPENSIVE process. Every item you test will run you about $70 to see if it'll be a winner. However, when you NAIL it, you freaking NAIL it -- I mean, conversions SKYROCKET and you'll make some serious cash. Plus, that campaign is so fine-tuned that it becomes evergreen and you can run it forever.
Yeah, it may have been before that. It was a massive waste of funds and really turned me off the platform. I remember that.
Sounds interesting now, though. May have to look again, I'm out of the loop on it, so all the new stuff I'm not familiar with. I was even looking at an agency to hire to manage it for me due to me not having tons of knowledge in the area. May need to give it a second look.
