Of course. But just try sending a file to, or receiving one from, an Android phone (around 80% of the phones in use right now) and see how well Apple does standard bluetooth then.
No, one or both of us would have to download an app, set it up, figure it out and THEN maybe (maybe!) we can do a simple phone to phone file share that would be effortless on Android to Android or Apple to Apple.
But Apple wants you to stay with them, so they... mess with your standards and... make you jump through... hoops... hmmm. Makes me wonder what they're smoking at Apple.
Customers like convenience. That's what got them where they are. Now they're forgetting that fact. Well, I guess as long as you guys with iPhones are happy with it they can get away with it. But don't blame me if you ever come across me in person and I offer you a free sub and you can't accept it because you run an iPhone. Sucks to be you. lol
All the people I have tried to help, with free subs, that Apple has stopped... it's just evil, I tell you!
I work in mobile sales and setting up phones for customers is about a third of what I do. Whilst what you are saying is true for Apple phones recieving files, there are other ways. The 80% figure is way off the biggest gripe of my days is setting up a customer who's upgrading android to android, the process is there but hardly ever works perfectly or there is always an issue, android to iOS it's just an app and it's easy, Samsung to Samsung we use a cable between two phones relatively easy most of the time, other android to any android not guaranteed to be an instant success even if you know exactly how to do it, most of my day is wasted setting up androids that have some kind of disagreement with the new device. About 3 hours of a 10 hour shift is wasted in frustration (I don't get it, it worked perfectly the last time I did it this way with the same phones). However windows mobile where can I start, they suck, 9 times out of 10 they won't receive anything first time and customers normally have to come back to collect their phones an hour or so later.
