I can't say for other countries, but I've noticed at least in America what it means to be alpha, a leader, an authority, has been extremely distorted and twisted since the 80s. Doing something like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Vince McMahon, etc did where a guy can become a billionaire through sheer force of will isn't viable anymore because of the insane amount of manipulation of consumers being done by huge corporations and those in power screwing with "the system" in order to maintain their supposed supremacy.

The American university system is a prime example of that. Someone like me who has over a decade of programming experience gets passed up for people who have degrees but no practical experience, then I get hired on a temporary contract basis to fix what they screwed up anyways but they don't keep me around. It's bonkers.

And it's going to break sooner or later and return to natural balance. Artificial manipulation can only be held in place for so long.
