I found that self regenerating state Shannon talks about is mostly based on past experience. It really is deep and stable confidence when you have an array of past experiences to support it.

This is indeed what I was thinking about with my post, yes, like a hypnotist saying "think of a time when you felt extremely confident" and has you anchor the resulting remembered state.
