There is a good answer to your post. Basically, there is stress growing into an alpha male. It's usually based in fear. That stress is frequently used by the program to empower your growth. Turning it off, you actually lose a lot of your motivation for growth and then it's easy to sink into comfortable oblivion and... not grow.
So don't try to turn it off, and don't use anything else with the program.
Maybe this is a difference between personalities, but I've always stressed about stuff, and the more I stress the less action I'm able to take, and the less energy I have. Only now on EPRHA2 and after reading a book that emphasizes small, constant action over time, I'm able to take much more action and I'm approximately 1 000 000 times as productive as on AM or otherwise. For me, less stress = easy action, more stress = mental loops going on overdrive, no action.
