I live in central Florida. We lost power here around 11:00 PM Wednesday night, and hurricane Milton passed through my area around 2:00 AM Thursday. The force of the wind sounded like a freight train barreling through the neighborhood. Luckily, no major property damage, and the power was restored at around 11:30 this morning (Friday.)
Shannon lives on the east/southeast coast of Florida. While the eye and bulk of Milton remained pretty well north of this, the storm had 'feeder bands' that generated multiple tornadoes in Shannon's area of the east coast. So, generally less wide-spread damage with tornadoes, but pinpoint devastation wherever the tornadoes touch down. Infrastructure-wise, this type of destruction could take awhile to repair.
So, hoping all is well with Shannon, and anybody else affected by the recent hurricanes.
