DAY 14- 13th day of listening
MISSED 1 DAY OF LISTENING
10.5 hours listened while sleeping - ultrasonic tones
ultrasonic on loop all day

I decided to buy yet another set of speakers to listen to and give away what I purchased for over $180; why? Well it's just smart because I am saving money and I am getting speakers that can handle 20 khz frequency, too. These will be connected to my laptop and not an actual stereo system in itself. But I am sure this will be my final purchase that is cost effective and is also good quality sounds
DAY 15- 2 weeks of listening
MISSED 1 DAY OF LISTENING
while sleeping & on loop all day - ultrasonic tones

Today marks the half a month mark; 2 weeks of listening; I wanted to report that I had vivid dreams again; well that is always a regular thing every night just about so far. But so far I wanted to report that my recall and memory has been quite good today overall. I should really get back to also listening on earbuds but I think I am going to do away with them and get the better quality over - the - head headphones. Feeling tired and drained but I dont think that was from the sub and the reason I say that is becuz what happened was I listened to it for about 4 hours while sleeping last night then had to go out to drop my mom off at my sister's house at 630am so that kinda interfered with my listening; then when I came back turned it on again from about 730/8am to 1130ish am. Then again turned it off cuz I had to go out again and now I am back and been listening to it for the last hour or so. So it has been sporadic on and off listening today.

I am wondering if I should take a break from listening to it for all day loop because since the mind needs to absorb what has been listened to to help you become stronger mentally with MLS. This sporadic listening for the day resulted in me realizing that I was recalling stuff when needed more often and I also felt my brain feeling "active" like someone squeezing it or applying pressure (or is it just in my head). But wanted to report that quickly today.
DAY 16 - 15 Days of listening
11.5 hours ultrasonic tones while sleeping
5 hours ultrasonic tones on MAX VOLUME while awake on a loop
MISSED ONE DAY OF LISTENING

Total for the day 16.5 hours
I used MLS 3.0 when it first came out a couple years ago. Headphone usage (~1 hour or more a day) really sped up the effects. I ran it for 4 months, stopped, and then picked it back up last year around January and then once again this year in February. Its a good sub man, but it does take time. I also ran it with Overcome Procrastinaiton and became a learning machine. Dominated my classes from Spring to Summer. I stopped in the fall for some BS reason but I'm sure you'll love it after a month or so. Just keep chugging. Smile

Thanks for the chime in and encouragement. Well I feel reassured now that you said it takes time; yes I see 'outcomes' that seem minimal at best but it is an on and off thing with me.....don't know if my mind is being resistant; I would doubt it because I do have a burning desire to want to challenge myself to test and learn something I've never known before - knowledge wise (this may be resulting from the sub to have that desire to challenge myself to learn and experiment).......

just haven't gotten around to doing it yet (I don't know if its procrastination with me it is more of not having the resources available immediately in the house such as books) there is still youtube videos and lectures but I will see if I can start a daily progress of that and start it today on the 28th;

as far as memory and recall it isn't instant still but maybe it takes a few seconds for me to 'think' for the word and then it comes to me......what I've also been doing is to not 'try' to recall the word and then it will just come......when you dont force to look for the word and if you do (out of temptation and curiosity) yes I do get it within less than a minute.

What I have noticed is that when I am writing like I am now, its like my mind uses preferable words to write to communicate (probably lesser than 1% of the time).

However I donno about committing 4 months to it.....I am tempted to move onto AM 6 too; I guess I will keep using MLS 5g until I have money saved up to buy AM 6. Yeah that's what I'll probably do.

The other thing is that I am NOT putting the speakers on both sides of the bed I sleep becuz my bed is against a wall so now I just listen to them on a loop as both sitt together against a wall in my room and my head on opposite side; but no the speakers are not on both sides of my head....

Oh and the whole headphone thing, you might be spot on with that idea. I have hardly been using headphones since playing the subs on a loop all day. When I get better headphones, I will listen to maybe 1.5 to 2 hours tops a day.

I honestly dont know how much successful I have become 2 weeks later with MLS since I really havent tested my self on learning something yet....I did try ethical hacking as a topic but turned out that it wasnt the full course training on youtube....so I ditched that and am now thinking of learning off a educational book....still have to buy it though.

My history with learning is shitty to be quite honest; I wasn't ever diagnosed with possible learning disorders that I might have had becuz my parents never took it into consideration....might still be suffering from it as an adult; I was never a honors class student or AP classes in high school; I remember I was one time at a english course made for 'english is students' 2nd language' group class room setting. Then in college, being suspended and dropping out; "trying" to grasp what is lectured to me by professor in school and not connecting the dots, failing 2 stats courses back to back and failing both (waste of tuition, hello!).....after being in a situation of dropping out of a prestigious university and then just barely graduating just cuz I was taking online college classes from a community college.....

then there is the side of not holding down a job properly becuz I kept getting fired within weeks to months and thought I was "trying" to grasp directions and responsibilities and still getting kicked to the curb or threatened to get kicked to the curb.....my comprehension of instructions I wasnt even comprehending....so all this has to do with some plausible learning disorder that I am not diagnosed with yet cuz the parents never decided to take me to find out whats really the matter with me; all i remember as a kid is getting pulled out of public school and being put into a 'community (special)' school and for a few years I was there don't really know the point of why i was and then just put back in public schools again.......didnt know it was a special school back then and parents never said a word about it either.......

with MLS I am sure if I get to that level, I might be tempted to just go to Harvard and graduate with Cum Laude or something just to have fun with what I can do after MLS 5g lol.....

Sounds alot like me. I was let go of from my first job, went through hell for a while in my second job, all because it took me a while to grasp how to do the job (mainly doing it fast enough). I was in AP/Honors classes in high school but I've always suffered from laziness/procrastination. So in my case the talent was there, but it was being driven in the right area and improved upon. I ended up having a shitty semester in the Fall due to a buuuunch of BS but I admit that it was self-inflicted.

For you though, I would recommend looking at some videos that demonstrate learning techniques but I'll give you some tips that have helped me.

1.) Find out what your learning style is

I'm a visual/tactile learner most likely due to years of sports. When I study for a class such as physics i often did a lot of practice problems or in the case of something like statistics I would redo assignments and/or recopy the practice problems from the notes to see if I could do them correctly.

2.) Try to teach it to someone else

This is tricky. For one, if you prefer studying alone this may be harder but what I've found is that when I have a white board in front of me and I try to "teach" to an invisible audience by talking aloud I actually remember stuff better. This is because you are incorporating more than one sense into the learning process.

3.) Give yourself time

I can't stress this enough. I continue to struggle with this at times but when I am able to dedicate quality hours to studying my performance improves significantly. Even for a job i will sometimes go over certain things or techniques and write them down and do this at least 20-30 minutes (when I'm not working of course).

There's a youtube video that sums up a lot of this much better than me. I'll try and get you the link. But regardless, when MLS was in high gear for me things were clicking. I do believe though (for me) that Overcome Procrastination is a necessity. Having a supercomputer in your brain isn't worth much if you have zero desire to use it. According to the MLS description page motivation is tackled but I don't know if its through Ultra Motivation or Overcome Procrastination.

What I wanted to do before discovering MLS 5g was to go to some kind of center that will help to dissect what your learning cognitive issues are (of course they need $$$ they dont do stuff for free) and find out from them where my problem is stemming from....back in hs / college, I think I may have been on automatic mode of not really being "present" and "focused" becuz I think it was easier to not be focused in the lectures and harder to understand what was being lectured to I was on bypass mode I theorize.....who knows possibly due to procrastination but now college can come to me (thanks Youtube ) where I can watch lectures online and pretend I am in a real class and test myself like that......I am going to start to get a topical book on a subject of interest and test my MLS skills from that.....I think it is time becuz 2 weeks of listening and not learning something productive, who knows if it's working if you are not applying yourself.....I appreciate your help and suggestions. .

In the context of a job though, when we have chatter mouths and fast talkers, it's hard to keep up with their directions and instructions especially when the topic and instructions are practically new to you...yes you could ask to slow down and repeat yourself but if I was the one instructing and you asked me to slow down understandably you are new to work and don't know the roles and duties yet, I'd get agitated too to explain to you how things work if I have to repeat myself....Undecided
DAY 18 - 17 Days of listening
(about) 8 hours ultrasonic tones on max volume while sleeping
1.5 hours US tones using Bluetooth from cellphone while awake
MISSED ONE DAY OF LISTENING

Total listening about 9.5 hours

So here is some updates....I was taking an assessment for a pre employment evaluation online (while listening to US with bluetooth) (keep this in mind keyword "bluetooth" as you read further and you will begin to see why....)and I actually think that I zoomed right through the multiple choice questions, I mean yeah I had to read some of them over a 2nd time but I kinda think that the first time read once enough for me to pick a radio button choice and I breezed right through it.

Also there was some key legend thingie that has some abbreviations for certain meanings.....and I guess this is what the company upholds in a real work place, me not knowing nor ever being employed with the company for the first time I actually think I quickly "understood" the legend and their meanings....now it was a timer quiz mind you and out of 20 questions I managed to get up to the 9th one......but becuz it was timed I guess the main emphasis was on seeing how many questions you could answer within a timeframe timer........it was complicated as I had to reread several times but deciphering it was a tad bid of a struggle but not so bad.....I might have gotten them all right I wonder.........

At the end of the assessment (cuz it is a call center job assessment) I had to take 4 virtual calls and finished all 4 easy breezy with 14 minutes left to spare on the timer......lol I was actually anticipating more phone calls.....I was like 'that's it'??? But I have worked in a call center environment so I have some background in it with knowing what to say to customers (been over 5 years though). But finding answers to their questions on the interface was easy and I never before ever been with this company it is like I just self trained myself to find out where they are without time lagging...

So question is is MLS 5g finally working its wonders on me almost over 2 weeks later.....?? Well to be frank, I think MLS 5g wouldve worked if not at this present time well over a couple of months later for me (if I kept using the USB connection listening to it on my stereo system) BUT

The real difference is that this time I was using BLUETOOTH via cellphone to listen from the stereo and with the same US tones.....and is it cuz of bluetooth that tapped the power of MLS into my mind during this employment assessment that I believe I "quickly" grasped the key legend of company codes??? Hmmmmm.......this is awesome, now I think I might have to listen ONLY ON BLUETOOTH every night......very cool end of the day results for ya......I doubt this would have happened if I was listening to it via just USB as I have been for about 90% of the time for the past 2 weeks......stay tuned.....more good things might be coming about as I continue ONLY with BLUETOOTH listening.....(not even using earbuds for a while). There may still be hope!

Oh and did I mention that I am also quickly finding words I would like to use in my writing faster than before? Smile

Some people have different results on different ways of listening, with US, trickling stream, and oceanwave; different ways of listening is speakers on the sides of your head, headphones, sleephones, earbuds, and even like me sleeping away from the stereo sets playing the mp3 subs; but one thing no one ever mentioned in methodology of listening (Shannon may have to know about this or probably alrleady knows about it); (also bluetooth in this forum was never mentioned so let me be the first to announce that this might be an alternate form of listening to you alll out there reading this or maybe it has been mentioned I just didnt dig deep enough into the threads I guess) but blue tooth worked for me and was my method in listening......maybe the first to report on this...

I've had faith in Shannon's subs before but now this is what I needed to lock in that faith....
DAY 19- 18 Days of listening
6.5 hours ultrasonic tones using bluetooth from cellphone while sleeping
1 hour US tones using Bluetooth from cellphone while awake
MISSED ONE DAY OF LISTENING

total - 7.5 hours for the day

So another thing I discovered is that I cant remember if I had any vivid dreams using bluetooth as I was sleeping; I always seemed to have vivid dreams when it was non bluetooth listening with US tones.

As noted above, I didn't really listen at all while awake only because I play my app on my phone and everytime I seem to play it, it shuts off the US tones as that also was playing. Then I discovered that the app I was using was causing the issue; so i got rid of the app and am using another music player app that is handling the play through without forcing any stops of the US track; so now I could play my game and listen to US tone at the same time.

Also another thing I am noticing right now as I write is that (as I am listening through bluetooth), is that I was trying to recall a celebrity's name to look up something on youtube and this time I was just 'thinking and focusing' more gracefully; dont know if i can describe that well.....it came to me within several minutes but I kept sounding out the name and bang! then I got it....if I had this app, I would have used it to listen to the US tones all day which I couldnt with the prior app, as mentioned, when I play games on my phone and listen to the tones via it too using bluetooth.

I also lost my debit card today and tried sooooooooo hard to find it I looked everywhere and to no avail, I dont know where it went......it pissed me off that customer svc was not giving me my first 8 digits over the phone and even after validating myself that I am the acct holder.......I know it is security measures but cmon after you confirm who you are, dangit just let it slide!! *groans*

So I just ended up having to close down the card to order a new one......which was quite the bummer; oh well.

Also discovered that when the nieces are at my house, and playing the US tones, one in partciular likes to mess with the dial of the stereo system......so I am thinking of just putting it away when I know they come to visit.....and just listen to the subs on headset......which is what I am looking to purchase is 20 khz mp3 player that also has bluetooth functionality.....along with a 20 khz capable over the head headphones; errr nevermind, I spoke too soon; I cant use my cell no more to play bluetooth; it is interfering with me playing my game at the same time......not only that but the cell is emitting static sounds even on low volume (eg if the volume goes up to 31 in number and I have it only on 15 - 17, cant be too low either with volume) you could hear a bit of crackling....)
(12-16-2015, 09:24 PM)apollolux Wrote: [ -> ]Maybe combine an SRS method like Anki with your existing study habits to see if MLS finally clicks for you?

Sorry for the late reply but I don't know what happened to Anki with MLS 5g; and what is SRS method???
Spaced repetition is essentially a memorization system like flash cards but with extra timing intervals added based on how well you know a given card, like if you know a card "ok" it will only be allowed to reappear in the stack after 2 minutes, while if you know it "really well" it will only be allowed in the stack again after 2 days, etc.

Anki specifically is a spaced repetition system (SRS) app available for desktop, Android, and iOS. The desktop (AnkiWeb) and Android (AnkiDroid) versions are free, while the iOS (AnkiMobile) version costs money; all three can download from the same freely available Anki-format flash card sets.

For a personal example, I've used Anki, along with a bit of private tutoring from a classmate, to successfully pass Calculus 2 in college the third time with a B+, while the two attempts before without it resulted in an F and a D, respectively.

lol ok yeah and here I am thinking there is an "anki" username on this forum that was using MLS 5g wow dont I feel stupid (and I dont mean that literally I mean that with a funny sense of humor tone) but thanks I guess I can look into it...Smile

MISSED ONE DAY OF LISTENING

Dreams:

I usually don't mention dreams no more becuz it is so irrelevant and random and not based on the topic that I am listening to. Soooooooo this time however it was different, I literally had a dream "school related" (speaking of max learning speed). So here is what I remember......(I swear just using USB makes me get vivid dreams; I might try again blue tooth one more time tonight and see if that gives me vivid too or not) both on US.......

So I dreamt I had a class and get this, Judge Judy, was my teacher! And the dream I had was missing a big piece of an assignment I think I did either wrong or forgot to hand in.....now the emotion I was feeling was FEAR....I was afraid of asking Judge Judy to give me a 2nd chance and let me get a specific piece of paper that had instructions or something to do it right; now she was being strict.......and I was like merciful PLEEEASSSEEEEEE let me have a 2nd chance!! and what I remember was that I was in a room she was sitting and I was by her desk standing......and there was this guy I think asking her for bathroom keys??? I perceived him as her husband........but the room was filled with people.......on the outside there was some contest I think occurring......it was sooooooooooo vivid but I wish I remembered ALL THE DETAILS......(remind me to write immediately upon waking so I dont miss out on the details)........I think in the end, she was gonna give it to me (the paper) and I hit a cord with her that she has a 'sensitive' side.....but thats beside the point; the moral of story might have tapped into my thoughts and the emotion of FEAR and MERCIFUL was brought up of missing a giant assignment cuz I probably wasnt paying attention or was being lazy to do it or something.....but if I dreamt further, I think she was turning soft and gentle with me that she would have let me get a 2nd chance on the paper.....

(end of dreams)

Note that the over the head headphones I have may not play up to 20 khz since Ive had them for a while before IML so I dont know if it will do me any justice.....however the mp3 player I have also may not be worthy of playing 20khz; so now that I am done with the disclaimers, let's begin. So today I am back on the wagon to do a self training learning experience; I found another seemingly credible ethical hacking program on Youtube. I watched about maybe 5 or 6 video tops; they're broken down into less than 10 min per vid and seem quite simple to watch.....they have a total of 75 vids; tonight the basic vids and key concepts etc I skipped over that; unfortunately I am not hands on with this program yet but more of a lecture listening in for acquiring knowledge sort of observation I did; again i am more interested in hands on learning to acquire a skill with this idea and not really interested in the 'knowledge' side of things at this time......however becuz it is my first night watching, the first couple of vids were to "understand" the core concepts and keywords......makes sense; dont wanna dive right in without knowing basics......I was listening to the vids without the subs even playing.....when I was trying to absorb the information, my brain was quickly trying to find ways to "remember" key concepts using past thoughts to fuse together ideas that would help me to recall information.....we're talking about information I never heard in my life.....and yeah it works the way I try to 'keep track' of factual information hearing it for the first time, but that doesnt mean I am remembering literally everything just as much as I can; becuz you cant expect to watch over 10 vids to 70 for instance, and think you will recall everything instantaneously for the first time of just watching something that you dont even have any knowledge on the subject matter.....so I concluded I'd watch about 9 vids per day and that would take 10 days for this learning experience and see how well has MLS really been developed in my mind listening to it for close to 3 weeks now.....and how quicklly I can adapt and utilize this skill in the real world.....I am guessing in the real world without MLS it would have taken me months to master something but with MLS see if I can recall and retain what I learn in days to weeks.....I will also register to become a certified ethical hacker.....and take a test at the end.
