Part of the reason we say not to use OF with something else is that it needs 100% focus and a lot of time to really accomplish its goal. If you don't give it what it needs, it will typically produce shallow, surface results that are just undone later because one of the issues with fear is that the parts of you responding with fear will just regenerate it unless and until the root cause is dealt with. And that is what needs all the focus and time.
In other words, you might get "some results" from using it with something else, and or incorrectly. But you won't get the results it is designed to give.
