Yeah but what if she was afraid he didn't care about her and just saw her as a notch? That could easily explain it.
That could be it. It could also just as easily be that finding out about the other chicks meant that she was afraid of not getting as much attention as if she was the only one. We'll never know.

And yes we may never know but I think this is what is causing the affected-side resistance: lack of trust.
Another part of trust is believing the other person has your best interest at heart.
