Perhaps try "How to read Lacan" by Slavoj Zizek, it's short, fairly amusing and pretty to the point as a general overview. Then you can go from there and start reading Lacan himself, most if not all of his stuff should be available in English translation by now (less so in Polish, but we're slowly getting there ).
