The reason I ask is, I've run MLS 5.5G with my 4-year-old on a speaker - ultrasonic track - and even though I would delay its start, leave the bedroom, close his door, and go downstairs, I was still being exposed to the sub. This actively derailed my usage of DMSI. So make sure they either are using headphones, or you ensure you aren't being exposed. That, or run whatever they're running. E2 is certainly a good choice - amazing sub.
I was going to run it on speakers at night, adjust the volume using an ocean track and ensure I can't hear it, closing my bedroom door. I could always sleep with earplugs in or white noise on.. I go to bed at the same time as them each night, but it's a concern..
If they don't mind the masked track, that's probably a good idea. US tracks, even though "silent," are much louder than masked.
You should be fine doing it that way.
I'll wait until they are passed out and turn the masked on then, they are heavy enough sleepers that they won't notice it
