"Crucial Conversations" has helped a lot.
I'm seeing what's going on in convos with people. Able to make slight corrections but I don't know all the "tricks" yet.
Obviously, it's not about tricking people, it's about making a safe space for everyone to contribute to what the book calls "the pool of meaning".
So now, when people talk to me a lot, even though I still don't know what to do with it, I at least know one thing: it's a good sign.
So long as it's not unhealthy remarks, which are detailed in the book.
Unhealthy remarks signal the need for more safety to be provided for all concerned and for mutual goals and respect to be present.
I'm hopeful.
