So ive found a 30mins silent track on youtube which ill download and load up to my phone's playlist.

I also downloaded macrodroid as plan B.

I found foobar, def too technical for me as I would have to install foobar scheduler which seemed a bit too techy for me at the moment.

Appreciate the replies though everyone and will see what Shannon responded with, as I would prefer to still play flac rather than mp3 if I can.

Play a bit around with Foobar with some normal songs first then you get a feeling for this thing.

Day 1 - Monday 17th Sept 2018

Finally started this sub after some delays and hiccups.

As advised and suggested above, I created a playlist with a series of 30mins silent tracks (found on youtube) followed by the 3 loops of UMOP.

It definitely disturbed my sleep, even though I dont believe it was on too loud so ill bring the volume down further tonight. - this is a concern to me since I sleep on 1 side of a large double bed, with speakers on either side and I do fear not hearing the speaker at the other end but ill have to have some faith.

I also sleep on a big bed with speakers on both sides of the bed. I hear the sub just fine. And you do too. Just calibrate it with the masked tracks first.

Thank you and yeah that's what I do but only hear the far end speaker when I move to it to be sure it's working. I then just have faith it'll do the job.

Today though I'll reduce the volume by one to avoid it disturbing me and see if that is more comfortable.

Update of day 1: - this could be me, it may be me procrastinating in ingenious ways or it may actually be the sub working - too early to say but its being noted here....


I had uni at 8.30am. Set alarm to wake me at 6.30am, UMOP finished around 6-6.15am.
I was exhausted and got out of bed around 7.30am due to short hours of sleep.

Went uni on a cup of tea.
Had 2 goals, to go to the pharmacy and get some throat lozenges as I have a sore throat for the past week and to go to a shop (walking with 3 bus stops away) to get a uniform I need for some future classes.

During a break at uni, went to pharmacy - check

Uni finished around 11.30am, walked to the bus stop, hopped on, went to the shop, bought the required uniform (hope it fits lol), came back and went home - check

Got home, immediately made breakfast/brunch and ate.

Started to tidy up, putting dishes away etc.

Then I loaded laundry into washing machine and set to wash - its just finished but im typing this so will type and go take it out and hang to dry.

I made a cup of tea enjoyed that.

Then I started to empty out the 2 freezers I have of old expired food/out of date. I dont fancy going to the garbage bins on the street to throw it all away as its an effort to carry these heavy garbage bags so I sat wasting time on my phone then realised I have actually done alot already and should type it up here, which im now doing.

So after hitting post to this, I will take out the laundry if it has finished or throw the garbage out and get it done.

Studying there is some angst towards it, some need to avoid it even though its not difficult stuff im doing at uni at the moment, but maybe subC I dont trust myself even though consciously I feel im a clever guy.

No idea but hope UMOP gets me motivated to study soon enough.

Update - Ive been waiting to speak to my sis about flights back to the UK, as I need to see my doc there so thats all been done now and then ill take laundry out and garbage etc.

Im not sure. When I think about it, I remember less vividly all the times I have done exceptionally well academically as a child (age 2-10) but remember the transition at age 11 I had at a new high school where I had to struggle to fit in with people, I didnt feel comfortable and academically I was being challenged alot.

At age 5-10 I was the top of my class, and of my school and I dont know why or how. I just excelled and had a competitive nature and got rewarded for this by the school at the annual prize evening they had at my school, every single year.

I remember at age maybe 13 putting in alot of effort, moving from position 21 to position 9 in my class of 30 students but getting little to no real recognition for it.

Beyond this I cant seem to understand why I fear studying.

By age 16 all I remember was wasting time more on porn or spending hours hoping to start studying but fighting myself, just staring at my textbooks, not being able to focus on the words and finding hours go by with nothing being done.

I dont know

I just hope either UMOP or H&C 6G or something else will help me overcome this fear and any other inner issues I have.

I dont know, by studying I fear losing time, losing fun, losing the ability to enjoy life (which I dont really always do), I fear being bored or I fear becoming a nerdy character that is just focused on books and books and loses out on the other aspects of life.

I really dont know what it is I fear, I am guessing it may be these things.

I could fear stress, the effort of studying the hardship of studying perhaps too.

Im not sure how to answer truthfully because im not sure at all @Shannon

It's a short-term opportunity cost that pays long-term dividends. Watching my wife go through school and get her DNP (a doctorate-level degree) sucked. We both missed out on a lot for 4 years. But now, with the income she earns, we can do whatever we want and live a very comfortable life.

Think bigger picture - keep your eye on the prize.

Thank you RTBoss. Its what im trying to do but its hard to move the mental image into an action I take. Ive been procrastinating on what I need to do for my success ie academia since high school it seems and no idea why.

If you don't really understand why, start using the Socratic method. Ask yourself questions that lead to understanding more in steps. You may not be able to answer each step instantly. Some of them may require that you think about it for a while.
