The Count of Monte Cristo made in 2002 is an awesome movie for showing the transformation from a boy into a man.

If anyone has Netflix streaming... these are good to check out:
- Into The Wild - Donnie Brasco - The Way - Good Will Hunting - Pulp Fiction - Reservoir Dogs - American Psycho - Silence of The Lambs - Short Term 12 - What's Eating Gilbert Grape Not on Netflix worth mentioning: - Her
I've seen most of these movies, since I'm a half assed actor myself and a complete movie freak.
My personal top 3: Matrix (first one mostly, amazing philosophy and meaning behind it) Donnie Darko ( His honesty, Alpha maleness and the therapist are gold. Not to mention the psychological effect of the movie) Unusual Suspects (so much suspense and how Kevin Spacy made it to this movie is inspiring)

The Matrix is a bit tainted by the executive meddling found in its sequels, though.

A movie I'm about 10 minutes away from finishing (but it's getting too late, so I'll have to finish it another time) is "Lost in Translation". A really meditative movie about life. It's not making a point either, just gently stirs thoughts and emotions in powerful ways. It's one of those movies that will most likely mean something different each time you watch it throughout your life, but that also spurs some revelations for you each time you watch it, and always in a different way, relevant to where you are in your journey. It's like a collage. Those are the kinds of movies I like best. |
