From reading your posts it makes most sense to just use mp3 when using Bluetooth. Considering that flac only increases results a couple of percentage it seems much safer to go for the mp3 option.
I'd find it very difficult to listen for 8 hours waking if I couldn't use Bluetooth, it's rare anyone will sit in a single room for 8 hours during the day.
I would agree with this. Seems reasonably safe to use mp3 through bluetooth, but I still have some doubts, personally.
Interwebz say this would depend on the devices that are in use and how they interact (f. in. whether they use the same codecs for MP3, etc.). Some crappy ones may re-encode stuff "just because", because they're programmed to do that even when there's no need for it.
I've been thinking of acquiring a portable player - bluetooth speaker setup myself, and I think I'm going to go to this trusted high-end audio store I know, and ask the staff to help me find a "matching set" that's going to play nice in this regard. I think I'll go tomorrow, see what they have to say.
