The last stages weren't made fast. They were just made on a machine running 3x faster than before because of the kernel upgrade and the VM update, and I worked on them nonstop because I am currently unable to sleep where I am. The fleas here are terrible.
The instructions include a brief description of what each stage does, but keep in mind it's not exhaustive or comprehensive. There's just too much in each stage for that.

Release was scheduled for the 10th. That's why I worked my butt off to get the last stages done on time. I've got to do final verification, and then it's on to packaging, verification of packaging, uploading, verification of downloadability, and then it will be released.
