The eye thing was basically an automatic subconscious aversion to potentially threatening someone with direct eye contact. I have seen it before. It's sort of a subconscious body language way of saying, "Not really, I'm not trying to threaten you, anyone who's alpha-er!" Now that you're more comfortable, you are noticing that's going away, and after a while you'll feel much more comfortable with what will develop into a "gaze of presence".
As for the sexiness/etc., that's always going to attract female attention, but what you do with it is always your choice. Eye seducing your wife certainly wouldn't be out of the question, though.
