The truth is always in the actions. What you believe dictates your thoughts, and your thoughts dictate your choices, which result in your actions, which lead to your life circumstances.
When people suffer and don't want to, they find a way to stop. When they suffer because they do want to, the find a way to preserve their suffering.
Some of it is faulty thinking based on faulty beliefs and faulty logic. Some of it is that there is guilt associated with something, or fear, or shame, or there is a feeling of deserving to suffer for some reason. Some people simply want attention, and that's how they have learned to get it.
It was hard for me to learn to let people suffer if they want to, but now... I have better things to do. My time is too valuable to waste trying to help those who are enjoying or preferring their suffering, I could be helping someone who does want help, or bettering myself.
Astounding, but true. The majority of people on this planet prefer to suffer.
