As for us being a bunch of chemicals and nothing more... tell me what the difference between a living thing and something dead, or something not alive is. What's the difference chemically between a living frog and one that just died? There isn't one. Ergo, life is not physical, but can use a physical organic body to express itself. And there are probably other ways for life to express itself, or exist, that we do not or cannot know about right now, as well.
