Use the original files. That means if you can't play the orignial FLAC file, use the MP3 file.
If you want to use the FLAC file, buy a FLAC capable player, or an app that allows you to play FLAC files on iPhone. Not being an Apple fanboy, myself, I have no ability to advise you on which apps will allow your iPhone to play FLAC.
