I have never seen any player lag by seconds when switching. I have a crappy phone that lags like crazy, too. Don't worry about it. Just do the best you have available.

By the way, I'm using VLC. No lag that I can see. On a shitty Galaxy J3 Prime. Serious lag elsewhere. I mean like I swipe to unlock the screen and sometimes it will time out before the keyboard comes up for entering the password, and the screen goes blank again.

And here I thought we need a phone with stereo speaker if we want IML's sub to be fully effective.

You do. The instructions tell you how to get maximum effectiveness. That doesn't mean that sometimes, using headphones or speakers just isn't possible.
