Curious- Am I able to listen to music while also listening to DMSI, or would that be too much of an overload or cause interference with the sub?

Yes you can watch movies too, just like you can listen while in a room with other sounds going on. But I'm not sure if listening DMSI and music from the same speaker/headphones/soundsource will affect the emittance of the sub sounds if that's what you're asking.
