Processing time isn't lower, because input time is lower. Processing time is actually higher, since we are using P6 and it runs in your head.
Higher input does require more energy, as it is in input/decode/process/store/execute mode, instead of just process/execute mode. The "no effect" is explained by more instructions being input, which creates more focus on what is feared (or what is perceived to lead to what is feared), and this more fear and more resistance and more stonewalling. At some point, the input exceeds the resistance by causing the cooperative parts to be stronger and more motivated.
