Hey Shannon, I know you mentioned a while back about having multiple versions of the self inside the mind and how you're working on the script to get all these parts to cooperate. I was just curious, do you see this as the normal human experience? Or is this more the case when we have possibly troubled pasts and these are sort of stuck or fractured versions of ourselves that need to be integrated?
I've been reading about people's stories with dissociative identity and how they have "alters". Obviously I don't have DID, but how they described different versions of themselves existing in one mind was fascinating to me. Terrible how it usually comes about though. But it made me think that maybe it exists on a spectrum within the human mind and they are on the extreme end.
Just wanted to pick your mind on the matter because your research is always revealing interesting things about how the mind works.
