My brother was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder for many years. Eventually, his diagnosis was changed to Schizophrenia due to clear evidence of that instead, which requires the same drugs generally for treatment anyway.
My god, what I would pay to give my brother back the life he had...and deserves...to rid him of this illness forever...
However, I doubt that's possible with subs. Wonderful idea though. Maybe someday, who knows.
