In my case for instance, I am already allocating nearly all my available time working on my projects. So using UM/OP would be useless as motivation isn't an issue. I am putting the necessary efforts, so US/LM would complete nicely and help me avoid unwanted synchronicities that are outside of the conscious scope.
If putting the initial effort towards your goal is the issue then you should rather pick UM/OP.
