It's also costly when and if you make mistakes. I'm not going to encourage people to do something that can and likely will cause them problems and possibly harm, especially when those problems and harm could easily be too subtle for a layman to even recognize.
Exploration is costly. Explorers pay dearly for their curiosity. I know, because that's how I learned what kind of damage can be done. Most people do not have the level of self awareness or understanding of psychology required to do experiments safely, and I don't even try it without using my predictive models.
Exploring is for those who are willing to hurt themselves, and maybe never even understand how or why they did. Not for the average person.
