Josh84 - Another question.. How old are your headphones? I find it's a lot harder to test if headphones can still produce the required sound range than to try to test speakers.
I exclusively like earbuds and use only one brand and replace them about every 3-4 months (They are ~ $20 CAD on sale when I do) depending on use (subs or music). The difference between an old set of earbuds and new is night and day. The old are quiet, can't quite hear all the sounds and there is a lot of bleeding between sounds. The new, superb sound!
