It's a way to see if you get jealous. Girls used tyo do that to me all the time.
I remember once at the gym a hot girl comes over and starts talking to my trainer. He shows her some pics of his and she's like "wow! You look HOT!" and then goes away.
MNy trainer turns to me and says "Did you hear that?!"
I'm like "yeah. She's trying to make me jealous"
my trainer couldn't believe it. The balls on me.
Well in this case, it was pretty much some random girl in the class commenting on a video our teacher made us watch. So I can't really say it was intended to make me jealous. We haven't even spoken to each other lol.
Either way, i suggest adopting that mindset. It'll serve you well.
