I still feel a bit on and off though like there is some resistance still in the background.
On another subject I wanted to ask you what do you think about a Vanilla Fragrance on a man. I love Vanilla fragrance but I have been wondering if it's not too woman like on a man.
For example I have a copy of Tobacco Vanilla from Tomford, I really like it but sometimes I think it's too sweet, especially when it dries down and the vanilla get more strong.
Do you have any Vanilla type fragrance for men that you intend to sell?
I have Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille, the real thing. I use it occasionally, but it's really not very useful for what I want a fragrance to do. It smells good, but it's sort of "for a different crowd" than I spend time with. Definitely not worth what it costs, IMHO... good fragrance, but not that good.
Vanilla fragrances on a man of course will depend on the fragrance and the man. Some are designed to be more masculine, and some are not.
I happen to enjoy Creed's Sublime Vanille, and even though it's supposed to be a woman's fragrance, I wear it (and my own recreation of it) from time to time. It's just beautiful in a way that I very much enjoy, and when I wear it, everyone seems to enjoy it on me. It's not really masculine, but it's also not so feminine that a confident man can't pull it off. I wear it because I enjoy it, and IDGAF what anyone else thinks. This, coupled with how good it smells, seems to be all I need to pull it off.
I am working on a chocolate fragrance that happens to use a healthy dose of real Madagascar vanilla bourbon in it, and it smells very good on me. Still working out how to make it last, but the vanilla part does not have that issue.
But there are some vanilla fragrances that smell too feminine. And some that don't fit my personality. And some that react badly with my skin chemistry. And some that use the wrong extraction type for the vanilla. And...
There are only two reasons to wear a fragrance: either because you like it, or because you want to attract someone else by wearing it.
If you like it on you, wear it. If you want to attract someone else and they like it on you, wear it. And the rest can take a hike!
As for Vanilla fragrances for me that I intend to sell...
The chocolate fragrance will be unisex, if I can make it last long enough to please me.
The Sublimie Vanille-Alike is beautiful, but my version is slightly more feminine than masculine or unisex.
And eventually I will make one I have had in mind for a while now, a dark, smoky, masculine vanilla fragrance. Maybe vanilla-vetiver, or vanilla-oud, or perhaps vanilla-birch tar as the main accord. Still working that one out in my head yet though. I need to get my hands on a variety of different types of vanilla extractions to figure which is best for that. Right now, I have a synthetic vanilla that's just not even close to good enough for such a fragrance, and a high end vanilla bourbon, but I want to see what other options I have as well.
