I'm using cryptic diplomacy because when I don't people call me AMOG 
when I use diplomacy people want me to be straightforward, there is always something anyway, I'm used to it don't worry.
Some would say I'm just jealous of his lifestyle If criticize him, especially if I you look up to him like a goal in life.
Seeing what he does, I looked at his personality just a moment ago, I would say there is a high chance he doesn't enjoy one bit his own lifestyle. I'm not saying his lifestyle isn't enjoyable by the way. I'm saying he is not enjoying it because he probably doesn't do it for himself.
I have a friend who had the same kind of lifestyle and the same kind of personality type, I would call that more a personality problem though.
Edit: I think it's not even a validation seeking behavior though, more his own inability to enjoy himself which make him want to do what he does.
