The best way to deal with it is to know exactly what the right volume for you to use for that day is.
Since you do not have the benefit of accessing my predictive models, you will have to settle for experimenting until you find your overall best volume, or use the instructions I have given.
Variable volume was something I tried, and it does not work well in the sense I think you're talking about.
