yeh I did that, I spoke to APPLE at length which is why their tech support (which honestly is pathetic, since all she did was look at the same internet website info that I had access too) and told me that my speakers are probably 10z to 20khz. She asked her senior colleague who is into music and he said this.
I then as you may have read 1 post above, did the silent speaker test that shannon made, and it worked. I heard no static or disturbance and the sound went silent around 20sec mark, so I'm sure now that my 2015 mac book pro laptop can play silent subs which now will be awesome.
I wanted to know though what beat pills do you have and are they 20khz please? I did try googling to see both for my apple and your beats and nothing came up.
