Day 64,

After 9.5 hours of sleep, my speaking and emotional baseline has returned to normal. I assumed that my subconscious was dealing with a lot of stuff beneath the surface, requiring my inner resources.

I'm at 72% through Draft 3 of my book, and I've reviewed and refined 19% of this draft - or 76 pages - across two days, including a whole new chapter's first draft, which skews the book's total length upward.

I have 98 pages of my draft remaining, and these are easy pages.

Day 65,

I went back to a thrift shop and bought a book I passed up on the day before.
I saw some cute women but didn't feel that pull within me to do anything about it.
The cashier was also quite cute but I couldn't gauge her age.
For this reason, it had me feeling very awkward.
Rationally, there's literally nothing wrong with breaking the ice with someone on the young side, as long as you do it intelligently, without making a jackass of yourself, and you keep it respectful; but I feel my body recoil toward any potential conversational partner, so it's an aversion that I look forward to getting over.

I felt my body being a particular variety of tense during the day. I have the particular feeling of missing out on life. That I'm not jumping on the opportunities that are in front of me, and that I've constricted my life as to only jump on small opportunities.

It's an annoying feeling because I feel a yearning for a better life, but no part of my body is activating to pursue a better life.
I can see how these feelings can catapult me toward greatness.
I'm excited to get through Stage 0 and into the main Stages.

RE: AM 7.0 - The Measure of a Man / Morrison Shouts in my Ear - Ampersnd - 07-05-2026

Day 66,

Drove back home from my folks just now. Spent yesterday afternoon at my sister and brother-in-law.

They're both on the "normie" career path but they're both progressing at it and seem to be doing well financially.
Their conversation with my parents and them about the food at this restaurant, or the commute to go from here to there, or who is cheating with who, bores me.
I literally can't care less about these topics. And still, I feel as though I'm both missing out on that world - and quietly spurning it - because I can't cut it in that world; the networking, the small social gatherings and Instagram food photos, the small talk.

I stopped over at a midway town at their boutique shop, there was a young woman who was there wandering the enormous place. She was so attractive to me, tall and thin but with this outrageous ass, but her attractiveness didn't really hit me until I paid and it was time to leave; I turned around and she was down the hall smiling at me. I felt my body walk out on auto-pilot, start the car, and drive out. I felt no desire or courage to make something happen.

Literally felt heartbreak from the ordeal; I'm also aware that my body and mind wouldn't have come up with anything useful during the conversation. My inner self is fighting itself.
I keep coping with myself that "she's too young" or "she wouldn't like me" but these are literal excuses that my inner turmoil is drumming up.

I think I have a sense of what's been happening my past three years.
0) I was a bit of a player fuck boy who was happy to hop into bed and overlook intimacy, connection, and vulnerability
1) I bag a baddie from riding on a false performance of bravado and confidence.
2) She breaks it off; I realize that all of my artifices are harming me and I withdraw from dating.
3) I find coaching for healing inner wounds and building up a more rugged masculinity, and I work at them
4) They're working at getting me more in touch with myself and removing the masks, but now that all of my toxic performance is cleared, I hit a brick wall of not feeling internally motivated to succeed at business or dating.
5) I'm in Stage 0, and that brick wall is getting chipped away.
6) The more this brick wall is getting chipped at, the more intense the trapped emotions are coming up
7) I want intimacy, connection, and vulnerability more than ever and I'm the least equipped to obtain it right now.

It's a wild ride. If it doesn't resolve, I hate it.
Wish @Shannon would chime in more; I always enjoy that and I get sad when I see a bunch of the other forum accounts getting his attention instead haha. I'm behind in this Ascendant Man stage process.

I'm not sure what you'd like me to chime in on more in this post.  Care to elaborate?

RE: AM 7.0 - The Measure of a Man / Morrison Shouts in my Ear - Ampersnd - 07-06-2026

Hey @Shannon,
Could be insight you have on any of the following:

1) What might happen to me emotionally during Stage 0, given my track record and past history
2) Whether my 0-7 steps relate to subliminals overcoming resistance
3) Whether me getting worse could mean more profound improvement due to clearing deeper resistance

Up to you; I can't want you to weigh in more than you do.

Up to you; I can't want you to weigh in more than you do.

On Point 1, I can only speculate.  In general, I would expect that it will create the sort of environment it is designed to create, which is a safe, comfortable environment in which to work yourself past your challenges mentally (beliefs wise) and emotionally.

Point 2 sounds like what I would expect; you're removing a barrier you created within yourself, which has been used to repress certain things, and as that barrier is being reduced and removed, those things that have been repressed will begin being expressed and either de-compressed, or resolved, or both.  #7 reveals what you most desire, but the process you're going through does not yet allow for it, and that's normal and alright.  I suggest you spend some time exploring these desires and their sources and causes, and then acknowledge them, but also accept that the process you're going through requires that you focus on, develop and work on yourself for the time being instead.  This is important because you can not have what you desire if you are not the other half of the equation: what she wants and needs from the resulting relationship.  This is why self development, self healing and inner work is so important for a man.  Furthermore, your urge for those things reveals that you are seeking outside yourself for what you should ideally be providing internally on your own.  The more you want, need or crave a thing, the more it reveals that you have something to develop, heal or overcome in my experience; and the less you need, crave or want something, the more you are likely to have it show up in your life naturally.

Point 3 I am presuming that by "getting worse", you are referring to your not feeling internally motivated to succeed at business or dating.  Correct me if this is not what you're referring to, but given this presumption, what you're seeing is a deep emotional wound that is being worked on, which is very uncomfortable for you.  As that part of you is forced to deal with and face it's challenge, it is losing motivation because it wants to hide, stagnate, not do what needs to be done to face and overcome that challenge it is being directed to face.  The program isn't going to allow it to hide, refuse, etc. and the more the program directs the cooperative parts to do what it does not want, the more it tries to stop or stall the process by de-motivation.  This will not work in the long run, but things like this are why we do the entire set instead of spending forever on Stage 0.  It's much like digging a gold mine: if you encounter a huge boulder in your path, then instead of trying to dig through it, you dig around it until you can get past it or you can move it out of the way because of what else you have removed around it.

RE: AM 7.0 - The Measure of a Man / Morrison Shouts in my Ear - Ampersnd - 07-07-2026

Thanks Shannon, that is exactly the kind of perspective I was wanting.

On Point 2, I'm developing flashes of craving, and flashes where I can myself fueling myself with these feelings. Still, I want a woman (or women) to share these feelings with. I understand that this set of subliminals might work at cross-purposes with being extravagantly outgoing to make such a thing happen quickly.

On Point 3, I might reference a teeter-totter as an analogy; there are different parts of my mind, body, and heart that relate to my various goals, standing either on the 'negative' half or the 'positive' half of the teeter-totter.
Even if I see a beautiful woman and 'want' to go up and introduce myself, if other parts of 'me' are standing on the negative side, I wind up not doing it.
The positive sides - who sincerely want something to happen - protest, and it creates inner schisms and conflicts. I think your analogy of the 'cooperative parts' and the boulder work well. There probably is an emotional wound that I'm not consciously aware of.

RE: AM 7.0 - The Measure of a Man / Morrison Shouts in my Ear - Ampersnd - 07-07-2026

Day 68,

I was getting a soft drink at the convenience place down the street from me, and I saw that a pretty woman was trailing me a bit and we were at different sides of an intersection, but she caught up to me.
I was 50:50 on making something happen, but everything aligned.

I slowed down after turning in by my place and waved, and said: "Hey, I noticed you, and thought you were pretty." She appreciated that, and we spoke a little bit.
She had a nice physique, especially her legs, but she seemed fairly youthful up close; I quickly asked if she was an adult and she said that she was 18. She also had the same name as a female sibling of mine; both of those facts rubbed me the wrong way, so I pulled the plug after a few niceties.

This event had a nice way of breaking down the mental rules I've applied to myself about when and where I could approach a woman.

Day 69,

As of Sunday, I went from a retention journey to a more regular self-service routine. I retained for about three weeks until I broke it up.
I still have adequate energy to do the things I want.

In October, I'll be in a musical production as a toned muscly man, so I hit the gym reasonably hard yesterday; going to bulk up a bit, then I'll want to cut through August and September.

Taking inventory of my psychological and emotional hangups.

Day 74,

I had an interesting insight this morning as I was waking up. I've felt myself experiencing inner transformation, but once you're living by this new way, you're face to face with people who are still "stuck" in these old ways; a prison in itself.

I understand that my inner changes will reflect in my outer world before long.

RE: AM 7.0 - The Measure of a Man / Morrison Shouts in my Ear - Sky - 07-13-2026

You're on stage 0, right? I'm glad you're going through inner transformation. Stage 0 was hard for me, but I got through it. I lacked motivation to do anything, but stage 1 has been amazing so far.

Yes, this is Stage 0. I'll mark my official stages more clearly.
I'll stay in this stage either for 90 or the full recommended 120 days.

RE: AM 7.0 - The Measure of a Man / Morrison Shouts in my Ear - Shannon - 07-13-2026

Where is it "recommended" that you stay on it for 120 days?

Heh, it is the instruction for the stage and not a recommendation. I see your point.
