RE: Shannon's Journal Discussion Volume 3 - Nara - 02-16-2019 For those who are wondering about Magnus Engine, this is from the glossary... Quote:Magnus Engine: A group of THREE different major technology modules (of which the Advanced Amplification Engine is Part 1), which act as a group to make the programs in which it is found much more powerful and effective. As of DMSI, Part 2 was introduced to the skeleton script. DMSI 3.4 is the planned release for introducing Part 3. Yup. It was THREE part. But now it has the fourth part. ![]() RE: Shannon's Journal Discussion Volume 3 - Hatman - 02-16-2019 (02-16-2019, 07:13 PM)Shannon Wrote:(02-16-2019, 05:56 PM)Hatman Wrote:(02-16-2019, 05:49 PM)Shannon Wrote:(02-16-2019, 05:31 PM)DavisMind91 Wrote:(02-16-2019, 04:09 PM)Shannon Wrote: I knew I forgot something. Keep in mind, Part 3 has not been added. It is so complex that I haven't found a way to include it without making the script vastly more long and complex than I can find a way to do at this point. That is why I completed the Magnus Engine with Part 4, which is (by comparative) a work of art in it's simplicity and configurability, and even more powerful than Part 3. Detox the universe? ![]() RE: Shannon's Journal Discussion Volume 3 - DarthXedonias - 02-17-2019 @Shannon I did have one question Shannon if you don't mind. It was in regards to one of the upgrades that is suppose to be about "choosing happiness" instead of something else (whether out of habit or another reason, etc). I was wondering does this take in account Long term Happiness vs Short term Happiness? I know another reason why lots of people get no where in life is because they aren't able to defer instant gratification for long term gratification. A person for example will keep on playing a video game to get instant gratification (and that short term dopamine hit) than say working on their studies to further their career which would actually make them happy in the long term. I did see you put in something about developing and improving patience. So you might have already thought of this but I thought I would ask just for clarification if you took this all into account. RE: Shannon's Journal Discussion Volume 3 - Greenduck - 02-17-2019 I'm thinking of taking a break of E2 starting of today to clear out for E3. Would 2 weeks from today be a reasonable estimate for the release of E3? The way I have it phrased, that should be covered, but it never hurts to double check. I am still early enough in the build process to make corrections if need be. I don't think it will need adjustment, but why not check again, right? Would 2 weeks from today be a reasonable estimate for the release of E3? Sure. I am expecting to have LTU5 finished being built on Monday and released Monday or Tuesday (today being Sunday, for those of you in the future reading a necropost right now). Then extracting E3 should not really be a very difficult thing to do, as it's just turning off script and rebuilding. Even with ridiculous delays (which I hope we don't have to deal with), that should be plenty of time. Can't wait, feels like my debit card is a gun, my money is the bullet and I'm just waiting for my target (LTU 5.0) to show up in my crosshairs before I shoot. Magnus Engine Part 3 was originally to be implemented in DMSI 3.4. Part 3 is no longer necessary, as Part 4 functions to not only replace Part 3, but improve upon it. So, the Magnus Engine is complete as of LTU 5.0's release. DMSI 3.4 is a ways off, but hopefully we'll see a 3.3.2 whenever Shannon has the knowledge to further upgrade FRM from 4.5 to its next iteration. During that time we will be observing how the completed Magnus Engine works. Remember that it is one component, and I can adjust how powerful it is. The goal is of course the optimal level of power, not too much and not too little. RE: Shannon's Journal Discussion Volume 3 - Have at ye - 02-17-2019 Define "near future". ![]() We'll get there. |
