Okay, so basically, in order to get it out when I said I would, I have not been able to run the models on it's performance except for safety. Optimization has been for safety, not necessarily performance. That means we may have to tweak performance later after some time in testing and create a V2.2.

That said... I'm looking forward to seeing what this bad boy can do.

Maybe you should run this version through your models predicting for performance but not tell us the results here on the forum just yet in order to prevent any placebo effect from influencing the test results

Lol. The other members might hate me

I'm posting the lengthy test reports to my journal and shortened, generalized results to the test report thread.

I plan on likely doing both. I just thought it'd be easier for Shannon if all test reports were in the same place (the test report thread).

RE: Shannon's Journal Discussion - K-Train - 07-01-2016

I'm thinking about doing both as RTBoss mentioned but posting a shorthand version in the Report Thread like Chaos suggested. I'm a lazy journaler but I haven't opened a journal up in a couple years so maybe I'm overdue for one.

RE: Shannon's Journal Discussion - Moniker - 07-01-2016

Sounds like a plan. Thanks guys.

RE: Shannon's Journal Discussion - Shannon - 07-01-2016

Script weave out complete. Now recording audio.

I'm fine without knowing anything. I actually completely skipped Shannon's reports because I wanted to go into this thing blind. I'm going to run it before doing Uber tomorrow night. It's Independence Day weekend for people in the states -- there's going to be entire tribes of beautiful women flocking to the clubs.

My plan is to focus on two distinct timeframes: the "going to the club" period from around 9p - 10p. Gonna stop at 10, do some bar hopping with my cousin. Then, go back to Ubering from 2a - 3:30a. Something tells me the latter will be the "fun" hour.

... or I might just stay in and keep working on my business. We'll see. Smile

RE: Shannon's Journal Discussion - Shannon - 07-01-2016

Audio recording complete. Now processing audio.

RE: Shannon's Journal Discussion - Shannon - 07-01-2016

Audio processing is almost complete. All that remains now is to calculate and implement the ASRB value, and then encode the files.

Not too complex for me, I was able to understand your long sentence example from months ago just fine. I personally never had occasion to write such a thing because I've only ever needed to write academically for grades, so such run-on sentences were often forced to be split and reworked or "lose points," but having read the dictionary in my "free time" as a kid and studying grammar in conjunction with Latin classes to see how they could match up in English as well has afforded me a certain understanding of how one reads and understands written and spoken English and how a competently educated person should read and understand written and spoken English.

So while yes, Shannon, you may indeed be the only person who actively writes such verbose language professionally and on such a regular basis, you are by no means the only one who can follow said language successfully. Feel free to test me if you choose, where the end result will simply be you will find me an equal in comprehending your scripts consciously as written.

Yes, I know this post most likely will come across as excessively boastful. There's pretty much no other way to say "hey Shannon, you're wrong, I can totally understand your language" without sounding either boastful like above or like a child being contrary.

I don't mean to sound arrogant or boastful, and I know you don't either. But when I am talking about single sentences that get up into the 5 to 20 pages long typed at 12 point font range, you would fare no better than me at understanding it, and it requires that I work with it in paragraph sized chunks at a time.

That issue is not the primary reason I would be hesitant to share it even if the last reason were not in play, but in having to spend extra time verifying that the grammar was understood by the person suggesting the change, which would essentially be me doing the same job, but taking longer to do it!

EDIT: Now that I think about it, there are other reasons why you wouldn't be able to understand the language I use that have nothing to do with intelligence or education. It would require giving away even more secrets to make them comprehensible.

Your history sounds like mine, actually.

RE: Shannon's Journal Discussion - Shannon - 07-01-2016

ASRB is 10:1. Now creating ASRB adjusted audio files.

RE: Shannon's Journal Discussion - Shannon - 07-01-2016

Creating the Ultrasonic file.

RE: Shannon's Journal Discussion - Shannon - 07-01-2016

Building the mask for the ocean surf and vocoding ocean surf file.
