What do I feel like doing?

http://youtu.be/V9zigpGGEFU

After bitching and moaning to my healer that my life's circumstances (job, family) are taking away all of my time and grinding me down in the process, she pointed out to me that the only way I'm going to get the extra power in my life that I've been asking for is to stop living solely from my intellect, even though I'm good at it, and let my heart join in for some synergy. One quick way of doing so is simply asking myself "What do I feel like doing?" to give myself the message that I matter as well, and that I can create my reality just as easily, or even more easily, than having others create my reality for me.
Wow you still going strong 60 some thing days cool. Follow your heart your head suffers follow your head your heart suffers, why don't anyone give advice about temperance, what ever happened to the good old days.Tongue
Segment intending and presence

Yes, I've been given a ridiculous work deadline that I keep complaining about. But I must admit that I'm the one to blame for work periods where I drift off and basically waste time. Segment intending is about chopping of your day into a segment of time, and intending to actually get your task done in the time period. Presence is what you need more of to actually pull it off, instead of wander off. I practised my presence this morning by cleaning and cooking in my usually messy kitchen without music or self-help in the background like I usually do, and while fighting off temptations to think about work. As a result, I actually noticed me being neater and quicker than usual. It looks like something that's worth repeating.
You asked for it.

So after a 12-hour day, which interestingly ended in my recalling my coding skills from 15 years ago, my boss calls me to go into a semi-kvetching session about how the project whose ridiculous deadline he agreed to is blocking me, the 60-hour+ a week worker these days me by the way from getting this one other project rolling. He asked for more communication, and for me to call on him when needed. So I wrote this e-mailed entitled MetaMail 001 in which I detailed all of my projects and the challenges therein. This will be a daily e-mail that will serve to keep me on track and him in check. I then turned the tables asked him to inform me of upcoming projects so that I may take them into meta-management consideration.

Oh yeah, yesterday my healer removed my belief of needing to please others. Maybe that had a little something to do with it. Wink
Speaking my truth

On the heels of talking straight to my boss (i.e. the good and the bad of what's been happening, in my opinion) I get a chance to do the same with the client of the demanding project I've been going on about. More confidence points to be won!
Drop the drama

I let my boss' tense moment become my tense moment, and after writing an assertive (but civil) e-mail back to him, was anticipating a confrontation that didn't come close to occurring. For all of the riled up feelings I had, I lost sleep, lost energy, and lost productivity when I need it the most. Don't let others' freak-outs become yours folks. You have the right to protect your emotional turf.
Soak it in
http://youtu.be/fmFCuWQfNTw

We are aware enough to soak in wonderful moments on vacation in front f scenic views, but when we accomplish something at work or school we often just move on to the next thing. Pausing the world to let your day to day accomplishments sink in recharges you, empowers you, and gives you more confidence.
If you choose it, don't complain about it.
http://youtu.be/ZG0BIJAPr-k

I've really been sucked into complaints about my job, but this simple philosophy that my coach gave me as a general philosophy seems to have snapped some peace into me. I indeed do choose to stay, so I should focus on stepping up to the challenges placed before me rather than complain and wish that they would just go away.
Make it happen, but make it work!

I've made it an unconscious habit of making others happy, but these days, I am adding the condition that it has to work for me as well. I thus turned down the invite of a friend from out of town that wanted to meet me at 8 PM because I knew it would cut in to my sleep, but I counter-offered to meet him much earlier in the day.
Living life at 90%
http://youtu.be/ZuiMdzWfdsw

So I felt overworked, felt the urge to escape, dove into my old wrestling happen, and through hopping around one video to another, ended up buying DDP Yoga from Diamond Dallas Page. Blush Amidst many goodies in the welcome package is a motivational video about living life at 90%. This is in reference to a Fighting Irish coach who said that life is 10% what happens to you at 90% how you react. I found that ratio of 9:1 in my favour quite empowering, and despite having a multitude of interruptions at work, I felt pretty happy with how I manoeuvred around things and what I accomplished.
Lay the SMACKDOWN

Any wrestling fans out there may get a kick out of this twist to achieving goals:

S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Achievable
C - Compatible with your life
K - Keep going
D - Do it
O - Own it
W - Write it down
N - Now!

And if you like that, you should look into DDP Yoga!
To the point

Wasn't totally on my game today, but by wanting end a meeting fast I assertively made some suggestions to wrap it up as quickly as possible and was complimented for it. In retrospect I think I did because I was a little tired and crank, which leaves me to wonder why I couldn't do the same when I'm actually fully awake!
You have a very masculine and deep voice, just try slowing your speech down a bit and you'll notice even more results.
