Congrats for purchasing v2, I am looking forward to your logs, Mr. former resister.

I understand your frustration with carrying around more shit while traveling but at least computer speakers are getting smaller now. When I travel (not that I can do a lot of that now), I carry my iPad only and use it for everything including subs, it ticks all the boxes: freq range, stereo and passes speaker test.

Thank you so much Fab10 haha really appreciate the support!!

I do have an ipad I had absolutely NO idea that it could be used and tbh its a big one, cant remember the size but the largest size and it isnt exactly the easiest to take out and use either so im now thinking maybe the speakers are the best option otherwise ill have to put phone on flight mode and go with masked.

Masked as far as I remember can be played via any phone, no speaker issue right?

Im just really confused because I did think that my s10 samsung phone could play US yet the speaker test has created major doubt and thus angst in me about it.

Guess masked it will be until i get the external speakers sorted and set up - sorry im just thinking out loud to get to an answer and solution lol
I've seen posts about this phone issue for a long time now. Thought I'd post. So, I just checked out that line of phone...I don't use Androids personally, but with that price tag...I'd be shocked if they weren't incredible quality all around. I'm sure it's fine, no phone at that price point is going to be outright trash at anything, it won't sell if so. Phones are very well-made across the market generally, especially at those price points now. This is more deep diving extreme OCD on minutiae...it's anxiety-inducing just to read.

I think to get you over this, you should record the speaker test file being played on your phone on the volume told to you by Shannon (I think 13/15 "notches"), in a video file from your other phone I believe you said you had. Upload it to YouTube or something similar, let Shannon view it to verify it works with no static or scratching sounds in the playback etc. Then maybe you can FINALLY relax and trust in things and move forward. I think that's the only way. Anymore words or assurances in posts will just be discounted, it seems that will bottom-line this for you once and for all.

All the best, Jake. Try to give yourself a break and relax going forward.
Dude, if you have a big iPad (a Pro model suppose) your problem is solved. Get the damn thing out of the box and start using it.

Download “foobar2000” from the App Store.
Put the FLAC file in the foobar2000 folder.
Make a playlist with as many repetitions as you need.
Activate Airplane mode and Do Not Disturb.
Put the iPad near your head at night and press Play.
Done!

It plays u.s. perfectly and it’s stereo (4 speakers). If you place it strategically behind your head at night, you should get perfect stereo, it’s large enough.

As a former frequent traveler, I assure you that traveling with the iPad is pure joy, one device does it all: subs, music, communication (Skype, FaceTime, text messages, email, WhatsApp), browse the web, Netflix (UHD picture, it looks amazing), e-books and even some games.

Otherwise, to answer your other question, masked can be played with any speaker, but it’s less powerful.

Feel free to DM me if you need any help.
Personally, I get the feeling that all this about having a hard time playing it is just a form of resistance, finding excuses to not use it or not use it properly. I used to buy nothing but the Galaxy S series, from the S4 to the S7, and there was never any issue with playing ultrasonics. That is Samsung's flagship phone line.

When my phones started encountering screen shatter issues too frequently (usually my fault) I simply stopped buying anything but the lowest end smart phones. Right now I have a reall piece of s%&t phone when it comes to audio quality. It can't even play 11/15 volume without crackling, and the crackling at 13/15 is so bad it makes it hard for me to sleep. But yet somehow, the subs still work.

I think your issue is summed up in one word, and I think you know what that word is.

Hopefully, OF v2 will give you better results. The new module is intended to be a significant improvement in getting the subconscious to cooperate.
I have a Galaxy S8. I can tell immediately when the Ultrasonic sub is playing by the change in "brain pressure" for lack of better term. That tells me that I'm hearing (and processing) the script.

I'd be shocked if your S10 couldn't play it.

Thanks alot Catman really appreciate it.

Ill see if I can do that youtube idea. Not something ive done before but hopefully will be straight forward and good to show Shannon.

As Catman suggested in the post above, I have uploaded the US speaker test to Youtube (never uploaded anything to youtube before lol) for Shannon to listen to.

This is a screen recording from my S10 Samsung phone. I had turned the volume to full towards the end.

If YOU turn the volume max when it goes silent then during the last 10seconds you should hear what I heard as being this odd swooshing sound making me believe that the phone couldnt cope.

I got this same sound from my S7 edge phone and I think also from my macbook pro laptop 2015 version.

Thank you

Ok thank you so what i'll do is start using the phone however before I read this reply I had uploaded a youtube video of what I hear when I used the stereo speaker test mp3 and its loaded above and to your journal so you can see what I heard and why i was getting stressed.

In mean time yes ill use the US on the phone, thank you this post made me more reassured!!
