Ah, but there lies the rub: reason isn't what guides these responses that result in weight gain.  It is the irrational, emotional and instinctual parts of the self that do that.  Anything BUT reason and logic.

Quote:She does have a LOT of anxiety about the Leftist movement that is taking over parts of cities in the US. She and I had experience when we lived in latinamerica regarding such political movements and how destructive they can be and how they can permanently change the way of life for the worse. I wonder if this increased anxiety is one of the reasons for the weight spike. Double-whammy, increased cortisol from the worry and increased intake of food due to the anxiety? Now that I think of it, that sounds very likely.

I have found that in virtually every case I have come across while I was researching the root causes of weight gain, it always traced back to...

Fear.

For some reason, the subconscious seems to think that "more fat = more safety and security".  In some cases, it actually is; bigger is less likely to be targetted for sexual assault, for example.  But for seeing security from anxiety, that makes no sense.  The best I can understand is that it is a side effect in some cases of seeking to recall deeply primal feelings of security that were first experienced very young in life, perhaps while being held and nursed by mom, or fed while the person was safe.

But it always seems to trace back to fear.  Even in a lot of cases I looked at where the person was diagnosed with hormonal disorders, there were cases where I concluded that the hormonal disorder wasn't a cause, but a symptom that resulted in, and it was the result of subconscious fear.  Remember that the subconscious acts as the control panel for the body.  Manipulating hormones isn't very hard to do through subliminals, so we know the subconscious can do it.  If the subconscious goal is to gain weight, then it will find a way.

This is why Weight Loss v6 took me 10 years to develop, and the next version has been in slow development for at least the last 3 years, bit by bit, in coming up with new approaches and new methods,  testing those ideas and refining them.  It's a very complex thing, and it's being run by the part of you that is everything BUT logical and rational.

Have to agree about the Fear thing....
There are so many fears-- the real primal ones, like having to flee due to unrest and not having money or food.
Food supplies begin depleted, shortages, etc.
Toilet paper shortages might have even been an analog for food shortages.
Hi All

So, after making the changes to our protocol for use of AS6.75, my wife started seeing real progress! (I continue to drop weight-- but I'm not worried now about how I look, somehow my body tightened up a bit and my chest doesn't look smaller anymore)

We began following Shannon's recommendations specifically for her:

  1. Add a loop each night (so there are now 6)
  2. Shorten the ASRB2 break to one night
  3. Play a loop at meal times (I have not been faithful about this one--mealtime prep is hectic and I usually forget)
The actual results are that she is about 3 or 4 pounds down since the beginning of the loop, possibly a little more (it hasn't been long enough to tell for sure because the drop started this past Monday and we're only at Wednesday)

It looked like this:
  1. She started getting serious about cutting her food (and drink) consumption quantities.
  2. Went back to counting calories using MyFitnessPal
  3. Seems to have backed off the munching (or so she reports)
She has always (since she originally lost her weight some 6 years ago or so) exercised 90 minutes 3x/week with weights and walks/runs 2x/week. These have remained constant. No change at all.

She feels and acts happier and sexier (in fact yesterday she was out of this world fun!), not as given to crankiness and over-sensitivity. Is this a psychological effect of losing the weight or is there some mood enhancer in the sub?

Maybe the crankiness and moodiness was her resisting the sub subconsciously?

I've had almost constant headaches since we began the sub. These are tension headaches that start in my 'weak spot' in my upper back and neck. I also seem to be on the verge of migraine. Thoughts about this? Until just this moment I had been attributing the headaches to weather, etc.

The only thing the sub does is adjust your appetite.  So this is the effect of success in achieving the goal.

Quote:Maybe the crankiness and moodiness was her resisting the sub subconsciously?

You got it in one my friend.

I think that if those headaches are caused by your response to the sub, some part of you subconsciously is trying to resist the program but can't, likely because it holds fears related to achieving your actual ideal weight.  That fear is being expressed the only way it can, through tension and the resulting headaches.  Sometimes I get these for short periods of time on LTU6, and I wasn't sure what was causing them until I realized that some of them are tension headaches caused by hyper-tense neck muscles.  That leads me to believe it's a subconscious expression of fear, and potentially an effort to make running the program uncomfortable as an encouragement to stop.
Hi All,

Just a quick update. Have continued Shannon's recommendations 4 days on 1 day off.
We had an 'aborted vacation' last week where we got almost to our destination, then had to turn around and drive another 4 hours back home only to unpack all the camping gear.

We compensated for the loss of our camping vacation (all CA campgrounds within striking distance were suddenly closed that morning without warning.) by having a beach day, a couple family barbecues, etc. but food (and drink) became a focus of the 'compensation' for loss of vacation.

So wife's weight surged back up a couple of lbs. Mine did too, but dropped right back down. She's on her way back to where she was last week previous to the 'vacation'. So far her new 'low weight' is 144.5 lbs. This is down from her high weight of 150 something. Today she was getting back to around 146.

Currently, my weight seems to be hovering around 190 or so dropping below by a couple pounds going back up by a couple of pounds. We'll see if the sub wants me to lose more, I'm looking pretty good according to the unsolicited comments from family members. Maybe I didn't need those extra pounds.
California severely disappointed me the one time I tried to go camping there, back in 2011. I was trying to spend a few days at a national park there, and was told that I wasn't allowed to sleep in my car "because the bears can rip the doors off the car to get to you and your food". And what did they want me to do instead? Why, sleep in a tent, of course! Duh! This in a state where it's not even legal for me to carry a firearm to defend myself against said bears, should they decide to attack me? No thanks. I turned around and left for Washington instead. California is the land of insanity, from everything I have seen. Sad, too, because they are one of only two states in the Union who have nearly all of what I want in a state otherwise.

But yeah, disappointing in the extreme I am sure. Sounds like you guys are back on track, though!

Hi Shannon- thanks for your understanding comments. I was born and raised here in CA and spent all but 4 years of my life living here. Tough to leave. Love the weather, used to the culture and I fear everywhere else will become just like what I'm leaving in another few years.

You may have been camping in the part of the Sierras that I usually go to. The bears have been 'trained' that when they see stuff in a car (ice chests, soda cups, etc.) that this means it is worth trying to break into the car. There is now extensive signage (with graphic pictures of what happens to cars when bears can spy food items, ice chests or indications that there may be food inside.) warning of bears able to open cars like foil wrappers of some goodies inside. We have learned to be VERY careful about having food out. I've had bears approach me from behind while eating a cookie at the picnic table and playing cards. In this case he was only 10 feet away. We quietly and without sudden movement gathered our food items and trash and walked over to the trash cans a few yards away and watched. The bear climbed all over our picnic table, wandered around the campsite, then wandered off into the darkness. That was the second night we'd had a bear visit us that trip. So the bear threat is a real thing. BUT I'd never heard you can't sleep in a car if you keep your food and so one out of site. That doesn't make sense.

Add that to the LONG list of stuff in my home state that doesn't make sense. Forestry policy at the top of my list during fire season. Gas prices due to unusual requirements of the refineries another. We're looking to move, but are open to suggestions where it looks like they aren't just going to become the next California...
Hi All,

Wife still struggling to get back the ground lost during vacation. Strange.

I've been doing the 6 reps 4days on 1 day off as suggested, BUT have been forgetting to play it during meal times. Will try to get back to doing that.

Me, I seem to have leveled off at around 190-191. Gotten lots of complements, too. So it must be a better weight than I was at, at least aesthetically, though I am sure it's better also in terms of health. Strength has not suffered, except in areas that couldn't be helped due to gym closures during covid quarantine nonsense.

Cheers!

Well, Nebraska has almost a 0% chance of becoming the next California, lol, but you should perhaps look at Missouri.  If you're an outdoorsman, there's a lot to do there.  Not sure if you're looking for a larger metropolitan area, or if having a beach nearby is something you need (without a plane), but in a lot of ways, you can't beat the Midwest.

Get in the habit of playing it during meals.  If she's still not making progress after a week or two of that, let me know and we'll figure out the next step.

I have noted that a lot of times, what my algorithm for calculating the ideal weight produces is something that people - Americans in particular - don't expect, and Americans tend to resist or avoid it.  But when they achieve it, they inevitably love the results - as long as they're not atheletes trying to use a program designed for weight loss that is designed for people who are not atheletes and the like.

Kinda funny how it works out that way.  I was really blown away how Americans are by and large brainwashed by society and advertising to believe they should be bigger than they should be, and how they will resist losing weight because they think it will [insert imagined problem here].  Some of the funniest examples were also the most tragic... like a woman I knew who laughed when I told her what my algorithm said her ideal weight was, and then told me her ideal weight was 50 pounds above what my calculations said.  She insisted that any lower than her current weight and "she was showing ribs, and that's unhealthy".  This woman wouldn't and couldn't have been showing ribs at even the ideal weight I figured for her, if her life depended on it!  But she would not hear that.  More of that sort of thing happens in the United States than I'd like to admit.

Shannon, she has continued to go/stay backward. I've only been playing the AppSupp at meals consistently for a few days. She really DOES want to lose the weight. I think she looks perfect at 130, but she's anxious to go even lower (but skeptical that she can). We only eat once a day (dinner) and she does seem like she is preoccupied with getting 'enough protein' and measures her portions accordingly. I have wondered if this could be working against, her adjusting her calories down. I used to be obsessed with protein as well, but have let that go over the last few months.
I have almost decided to just get into the habit of having it play 24/7 (out of frustration), but so far have not yet done this. I did accidentally leave it in eternal loop mode one time a couple weeks ago (around the time she was losing weight still), but other than that, I've been complying with the 6x/night 4 nights on 1 night off. Some nights we aren't in bed long enough so she misses the last loop, though.

I'll get back to you after another week or so of trying the current pattern. Thanks for the advice and encouragement.
If you can't get results otherwise, more exposure may be necessary. Which format are you using again?
Hi Shannon,

Just an intermediate update. No real news on my wife, so far. I'm playing it not just AT meal time, but during preparation time and again if there's a little snack time, etc. Of course I'm looping it 6 times at night, also. I've verbally encouraged her not to worry as much as she does about protein, because I've backed off my protein intake and have not seen ill effects (that I know of--just had blood drawn, so we'll see how the tests come out...)

However, I am doing fine. Even when I splurge and have a beer and some pizza, which almost always drives my weight up at least temporarily, has been sending my weight back into my old zone (pre sub), BUT it drops back down to my new weight for the rest of the week.

My weight is stabilizing it appears at 188-190. I'm 6'2" and lift heavy a couple times a week. My waist is down almost an inch since I began the sub, which is really the only place I felt I had any fat to lose.

After another 7 days of making her listen to the sub during meals, we'll report back.

Just wondering, should I try playing the 'hybrid' version during meals with the sound of ocean in the background?

Thanks

Hi Shannon,

Using the mp3 silent version.

Am wondering if you think I should try running the hybrid during meal prep, meals & snacks.

I am thinking I should also play it at meal planning time-- basically anytime she's doing anything with food...

Thoughts?
Does she know when it's playing?
