Hello,

I just wonder if the subliminals get ruined when I convert FLAC to ALAC so I can listen to it at an IPhone since FLAC files doesn’t work on iPhones(or at least some models.)?

If converting the files damage the subliminal what do I need to do to solve this problem?

Kind regards, Baban

Depends on what you're using to do the conversion. If you're careful to make it completely lossless, then the audio is literally identical and I (personally) don't see what issue there might be.

BTW, this is exactly what I do. I use XLD to convert from FLAC to ALAC, and then play those files.

This is the software I used and the instructions I followed:

You know if it’s any good? Thanks for the reply mate!

I don't know, sorry.
Thanks, anyone else that can give me some clarification in this matter?
Nobody knows what the software is doing so nobody can give you a definitive answer. I heard in theory only the container changes and not the data itself when you convert FLAC to ALAC but I wouldn't rely on it. Get an app which can use FLAC directly.
There's only one "official" answer - and that's from the creator himself. Shannon says, "Don't do that."

Use the original files. That means if you can't play the orignial FLAC file, use the MP3 file.

If you want to use the FLAC file, buy a FLAC capable player, or an app that allows you to play FLAC files on iPhone. Not being an Apple fanboy, myself, I have no ability to advise you on which apps will allow your iPhone to play FLAC.
Convert from FLAC to ALAC and back to FLAC. If the checksums match, you will have your answer.

Apple is famous for assuming you are a moron, and trying to think for you, assuming things about what you want in the background, and screwing shit up royally without you having any way to know it when it comes to subliminals. Once you do anything to my subs you no longer know if the subliminal audio is degraded, altered or worse, destroyed.

DO NOT convert to ALAC. Instead, get a player that can play FLAC. And better yet, tell Apple to play nice with common standards, too. Or to go*****themselves - but that's just my preference. Wink
Cool, already answered. Thanks 4Kingdoms.
Thanks for the reply guys and forgive me for my ignorance by missing it on FAQ, appreciated.

Got damnit I have been running it on ALAC since i got it. Anyway good that I switched sooner than later anyway.
