I just finished reading The Machiavellian's Guide to Charm and it was...interesting. I honestly didn't know how to approach it and read it with little to no expectation. I couldn't tell if the material was serious or intentionally comedic, as it feels like most of the recommended responses of the "Charmer" seemed overly placating and potentially beta (as a mostly reformed former beta I've found myself using Charmer responses naturally over the years).
Who is the intended audience of this book? Did anyone else here read it and actually find it useful? It feels counterintuitive to becoming properly self-confident and alpha, but maybe I missed a joke somewhere in the introduction or something.
