On Willpower

The topic of willpower came up in a couple of journals recently and I decided to take this opportunity to remind people that current scientific thinking is that willpower is a limited resource, a rechargeable battery. Look up Roy Baumeister's willpower experiments for more details, the most famous one involving chocolate and/or chocolate chip cookies.

I may or may not have previously posted here about this, but I wanted to put up something relevant.

Funny you mention that, I actually read that study about a week ago. I always had a feeling willpower was finite and you had to budget it wisely, but after seeing that scientific study it confirmed my feelings.

Makes you wonder what else is going on in our minds that people are horribly misinformed about.
