Hello Aditya, you are are probably right, the freq. recording app is not a standard instrument or standard operating procedure to know the frequency as it heavily depends on the sensitivity of the mic. It's better not to rely on these apps. I'm saying this because I tried a similar app to measure the DB's (Decibels) on an iphone of my friend but again the phones mic issue plays an important role. I tried variations in volume and distance but the app didn't show variations as expected.
