SantaRich is correct. Stage hypnotists basically test the whole crowd for susceptibility and pick out the 1% or less of people who are easiest to influence. Peer pressure can be twisted to enhance the results, as can feelings or beliefs of expectation based on what a person has seen or heard about the experience.
