Taken from Wikipedia:
Incubation is a common psychological phenomenon that happens unconsciously within the subconscious. If you think about a puzzle for example, "One sunny day I was walking across a field when I came upon an old scarf, a carrot, and two pieces of coal lying in the grass. How did they get there?" your concious mind may not have an instant answer to it. You thinking about it for a bit that forget about it an move on. Then randomly the answer will pop back in to your conciousness "OFF COURSE, A SNOW MAN MELTED IN THE SNOW". It seems random, but is it? This just proves to me how powerful the subconscious can be. Clearly when the concious mind dropped the problem, the subconscious went to work to solve it. Busy working away behind the scenes, delving into memories the concious mind doesn't have easy access to.
This got me thinking if something like this could be worked into the script technology. Maybe as a consciously heard open ended question like, "I am incredibly charismatic because...??????" or "The reasons why I know for a fact I'm good at x,y, or z are because..." then the subconscious will go away and dig up all the old memories (maybe even currently bad memories) to find an answer to why you are charismatic or whatever. The effect could not only change beliefs about yourself, but also bring all the old memories and experiences up as a way to reinforce the belief (rather than oppose it at first). Maybe questions could ever be posed subliminally directly to the subconscious mind.
I'm just wondering if you think open ended, suggestive questions could work really well along side the affirmations and statements. I'm sure this is something that has already been thought about though.
Quote:The experience of leaving a problem for a period of time, then finding the difficulty evaporates on returning to the problem, or even more striking, that the solution "comes out of the blue", when thinking about something else, is widespread. Many guides to effective thinking and problem solving advise the reader to set problems aside for a time
