When I committed to this journey, I started out using my Note 3 and some earbuds.
Although I still spend a large part of the day with earbuds in, it's not practical all the time, so...I picked up a portable speaker from Amazon to play the silent subliminals in my bedroom at night:

Then, I decided to pick up one more small one for future use with E2 (after my current run of ASC) that will be connected to an inexpensive MP3 player... and run 24/7 in the bedroom.

They both have good frequency response and clean sound.
