AM7 Group Chat

I put this here instead of the discussion thread because this is the main section of the forum and we’re low on people right now. If it gets moved there or deleted, I understand.

This is a thread for discussion of AM7. Mainly for those running it (or looking to run it). But anyone can join in as long as they don’t detract from the “spirit” of this group journal. This is a place for all the AM7 users to chat in one place, and for them and others to discuss AM7 and AM7 adjacent things. AM7 does not always need to be the center of the topic of discussion (hence why I mentioned “spirit”). Think of this sort of like a “men’s locker-room”.

I made this because I feel like we don’t really have somewhere to collectively discuss AM7 stuff all in one place. When it’s people in someone’s journal, it usually defaults to a sort of dynamic of everyone talking in relation to that person’s journal rather than a more neutral ground for everyone to just say what’s on there mind. (Which is fine, because that’s what journals are. But I think neutral group spaces are important too).

I became aware of the term "alpha male" about ten years ago. It's not something that carried much weight with me. But the more I evaluated myself, my life, my thoughts,  my weaknesses,  etc., the concept of the Ascendant Alpha really appealed to me. I'm a hard-core introvert and have been since i was a kid. My friend circles have always been small or non-existent. I'm the guy that people seem to trust deeply and confide in,  but it's draining.  So, i tend to refuse invites to all social gatherings. I don't necessarily dislike people, but solitude is where I feel most alive.  I've always resonated with fictional characters that were masculine men that just wanted to be left alone. But, because they are extremely competent in their skill set,  it never seems to go their way (Riddick is a good example. John Wick, though less masculine,  is another).

Shannon mentioned that his concept of the Ascendant Alpha is similar to what some call the Sigma-male. In an attempt to gather more insight,  a web search returned this article.

And that article led me to dig deeper into the website (which seems to hold a balanced perspectiveon the topic of power dynamics). After developing an interest in power dynamics, but still wanting to gain more insight into the Sigma-male, I came across this YouTube channel.

I've been listening to the Sigma Old Man Playlist daily as I drive to and from work (1.75× speed). I've never been into the red pill stuff or the manosphere. That has never been down my lane.  But this channel has helped articulate some of my own thoughts, feelings, and motives. A lot of the material is repetitive,  and it tends to distill the concept of the Sigma-male into its purest form.  But I've enjoyed listening, and I think some of you might enjoy it too particularly if you share some of my personality traits. I'm an INFJ,  so I realize I'm extremely rare. Most people,  including my immediate family, don't fully understand me and only get a glimpse of what I allow them to see. The Playlist above describes the phenomenon well.

I'm not sure what to expect from AM7. My hope is to achieve total self-mastery, unshakable self-esteem regardless of external circumstances, an internal inclination and wisdom to strategically dominate any situation that i deem worthy of my attention, and a drive to constantly level up in every aspect of my life that is aligned with my short term and long term goals. That includes calculated risk taking where appropriate. All in all I'm hoping to become a stengthed and more refined version of myself that I'm very proud to be. My hope is that AM7 is the internal equivalent of going from a lazy, overweight, ice cream and potato chip eating slob to a disciplined elite athlete with a ripped muscular physique.

Something else to add is that I hope to refine my goals as the foundation of who I am becomes solidified. I suspect that some of the things that are important to me today are based on approval seeking tendencies. 


And another thing...I want to be a sexy muphucka while all the above is true too.?

What type of music do you guys listen to? Does being an Ascendent Alpha Male tune you into a certain type of music? I'm just curious because it plays such a large role in my life.

I'm on Stage 0. I recently passed the two month mark, so a couple more months to go.

I want to move on from the herd mentality, and the sigma old man playlist looks good when I listened at 1x speed, so speeding it up should make it more digestible.

@NOMAD I want to become ripped too. I bought running shoes, insoles, and running socks just to get in shape because I'm overweight at like an estimation of 25% body fat. I have a shitty metabolism so to speak but jogging and walking should help with that.

I'll lift weights eventually once I've reached my ideal weight through consistent running. I was on thyroid medication for a while and that was affecting my sleep schedule. I'm a morning person and I couldn't get the fuck up in the morning to workout but now I can as I've been off of it since last week to see if I can live without it. I'm going to buy some coconut water to moderate my thyroid actually as told by a doctor for natural remedies.

@Frosted @NOMAD I love this forum, guys. I've been here a long time since improve your grades and study habits came out in 4G lol. That was my first experience/subliminal. I've gone through so much healing and have had amazing success through sheer hard work and mindset improvement through the subliminals.

If you're looking to get ripped, your going about it the wrong way.  You need to preserve muscle and lose fat.  Jogging won't do that. I recommend walking at a moderate pace on your off days for health reasons, but it's not going to have a huge effect on body composition.

Hit the weights or adopt a hard-core calisthenics routine,  cut your calories,  and make sure you consume enough lean protein. Once you've established a routine, incorporate progressive overload and resets to make continual progress and mitigate plateaus.

I'm not ripped. I know what it takes to get there so and if you're not genetically inclined to be ripped, it's tough. For now,  I'm content to have a steady routine and working toward being in decent shape.  In my post above the reference to being ripped was an analogy of what I'm hoping to experience internally with AM7.

One of the common threads through that type of music was the "Rambling man" and the loner mentality. But I suspect the feel and lyrics of that type of music won't appeal to many here. There's a difference in losing "weight" and getting ripped. Do you know what being skinny fat is? Have you ever been ripped?

If not, it would probably be worth your while to educate yourself on changing your body composition.

Subs have definitely changed my taste in music to an extent. Not artificially, but organically as I developed. I used to be heavily into breaking benjamin and three days grace. I still like them, but I've moved onto more deftones style stuff. Some of my favorite songs are: Cherry Waves, Sextape, Xerces, Everlong, Entombed. Probably my favorite song of all time is "Is it really you?" by Loathe. I like washed out shoegazy songs that are both hard and soft.

My hope is to achieve total self-mastery, unshakable self-esteem regardless of external circumstances, an internal inclination and wisdom to strategically dominate any situation that i deem worthy of my attention, and a drive to constantly level up in every aspect of my life that is aligned with my short term and long term goals. I won't be running AAM7 except for Stage 0, but I love the idea of the group chat and wanted to chime in.

As far music goes, my musical taste changes based on the subliminal I'm using and what it's working on. It usually falls into the rock/metalz category, but the specifics of which songs I'm drawn to change. It's really interesting; it's why I'm posting songs all over my journals.

I'm a giga extrovert lol. I love making friends, as long as they are worth my respect and trust as I continue to grow. I listened to "Is it really you" by Loathe, and I liked it! I added it to my playlist. I added a variety of music to my playlist on Spotify. Try Jane (slowed) by Kedalos. Let me know if that's a vibe to you. There's also "NOW OR NEVER" by Tkandz, CXSPER that I really like. Then, the girl I'm going on dates with loves California-type music, so try "All Your Love" by Jai Wolf, and let me know what you think. Of course, if you don't like any of these, we just have different tastes then, which is part of being human.
