What happened was that during about the third or fourth stage, I became less motivated to do things that I didn't want to do based on a fear based mentality of a negative outcome. While that's a positive thing, it did cause me to be lazier than I was. What I did was shift gears and become motivated by a different reason and that's out of self respect and vigilance. As it stands now, I'm more motivated than ever before (especially when it comes to working out) AND it's not based in fear anymore, it's based in self respect. It's like a horseshoe, you have to go to the bottom before you can get to the top of the other side.
There's nothing in the alpha set that can be causing a fear based mindset. It's all working against that. That may have been a last ditch resistance effort by your subconscious, which would make it a last gasp of resistance that could be accomplished in no other way than that... there have been a lot of cases I have seen in which people (not related to using mental programming of any kind) have expressed resistance through manifesting a negative trait that could then be associated with whatever was being resisted so that they had a reason to act on their desire to resist. Rationalizing the quitting... is it possible that was part of what happened for you?
If it was done out of fear, and fear is the last thing you should be getting from the alpha set, then it makes sense that at least it could be said that something in those stages triggered a subconscious fear in you and when you pushed through and faced it down, it was overcome.
